John Montgomery Obituary

John F. T. Montgomery, age 80 of St. Peter, Minnesota passed on March 25, 2024, at Minnesota Health Fairview Hospital in Edina, Minnesota. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at a late date and will be announced. Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato is assisting the family with arrangements. www.woodlandhillsfh.com

John was born to Carl and Dorothy (Matzke) Montgomery in Belvedere, Illinois on April 14, 1943. Married Darlene (Weber) Montgomery on July 6, 1963. He served in the Navy and National Guard, and was a Mechanic, Maintenance and Truck Driver.

John is survived by his wife Darlene and four children, Tammy (Richard) Guentzel, Theresa Schoenborn, Bobby (Lynn) Montgomery, and Karen (Joe) Heilman and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters Beverly (Charles) Brown and Sharon (Daniel) Milbert and one brother Bill (Punk) Montgomery.

John was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Richard Montgomery and Raymond Montgomery, sister Lois Montgomery, granddaughter, Dackotah Montgomery, great grandchildren, Madyson Miller and Conner Sanders, and son in law Mark Schoenborn.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
