We sadly announce Kenny’s passing on Monday, 1/22/2024 at the Oaklawn Care Center in Mankato MN. Ken was born on 6/24/1933 in Marshall MN. There will be a prayer service from 1:30 to 2:00 on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at #269 Eagles Club located at 708 N Riverfront Drive Mankato MN for those that would like to attend. Immediately following, join us for Ken’s celebration of life from 2:00 to 4:00.
Ken gained a variety of knowledge about numerous careers before selecting one. Ken was a hard worker. Younger years working at home, doing odd jobs and helping out relatives on their farms; he worked on a survey crew in Balaton MN, cement finisher in Marshall MN. He worked as a Flour Miller/Supervisor for Hubbard Milling for 33 years then 10 years for Cargill. Ken received his degree at the Milling Science College in Kansas City which required on-going work studies throughout his employment until his retirement.
Ken loved his family, enjoying time with his grand-children and great-grand-children especially. He enjoyed all of life’s simple pleasures; hunting, fishing, playing cards, visiting with relatives and friends, woodworking, gardening, working on automobiles and in later years playing Bingo at the Eagle’s Club. He enjoyed old time Whoopie John music, actually all country music but especially old-time and dancing.
Ken was a member of Local 62 while working for Hubbard Milling; and a member of #269 Eagles Club since 1969.
Ken was the oldest of 11 children born to Clifford and Ruth. He is survived by Wife; Susan, Sons; Ken Jr (Lucy, daughter-Kara (Dan) (great-grandchildren; Mason, Aliyah, Emmelie). Scott (Chandler, Madelyn) Daughters: Terrie Reed (Ron)(son-Ryan), Kristine Perendy (son-Joshua). Brothers; Brian (Deb) Buchert, Bruce (Rita) Buchert: Sisters; Nyla Buchert, Myra Morash, Patricia(Daniel) Taverine; Sister-In-Laws; Joann Buchert and Sharon Buchert; many nieces and nephews.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cathy, Brothers; Jerold Buchert, Curtis Buchert, Sisters; Beverly Studeman, Karen Daniels, Susan Buchert; Brother-in-laws; Frenchie Morash, Orville Studeman, David Daniels, Louis Sovell, Gordy VanLerberghe.
