Marlys Daly, age 82, Of North Mankato, MN died Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Monarch Meadows in North Mankato. Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mankato with Pastor Neil Ellingson officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice Program or First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Marlys was born August 16, 1941 in Milnor, ND to Arthur H. and Hazel (Baldwin) Sebens. She married Michael O. Daly on August 29, 1965. She graduated as Valedictorian of Milnor High School in 1959, Cum Laude from St. Francis School of Nursing in 1962 in Breckenridge, MN and passed examination for registration in the state of MN as an RN, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science from Mankato State University on August 7, 1998. She retired from a career at Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato, formerly ISJ.
Marlys was an active member of Mankato First Congregational UCC, past member of MN Valley Sweet Adelines and Premium Blend quartet, past member of Mankato Mrs. Jaycees, past member of Mu Lambda chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, participation in Lifelong Learners and participation in Summit Singers.
Marlys is survived by son, Brendan (Chelle) Daly of Chandler, AZ; daughters, Kathleen “Katie” (Lyle) Jones of Saint Peter, MN, Meghan (Monte Lewis) Petersen of Mankato; grandchildren, Peter (Ellen) LeBeau, Rachel LeBeau, Audrey Daly, Kelden Daly, Kaeden Daly, Ryan Petersen, Kylee (Josh) Serafin, Barbara (Rob) Long; great grandchildren, Ada, Ash, Asa Long, Luke LeBeau, Jessica, Hunter, Anika and Oaklynn Serafin, brother, Duane (Sharon) Sebens of Tuscon, AZ, brother-in-law, Terrence (Linda) Daly of Champlin MN, sister-in-law Pat Freese of Brandon MN; nieces and nephews, Katherine Denman, James Kleingartner, Michelle Daly, John Daly, Terry (Rod) Johnson, Mitch (Tyera) Sebens, Kimberly Brown, Mark Sebens. Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, husband Michael, brother Marvin Sebens, and nephew Keith Sebens.
