Ormand C. Reynolds

Ormand Reynolds, 83, of North Mankato, MN passed away on April 3, 2024 surrounded by family.

Born to Clinton and Helen Reynolds, Ormand grew up on Wall Street in North Mankato, MN with his sister Beverly and cocker spaniel Penny. He and his family spent summers at their cabin on Lake Francis where Ormand caught frogs, helped at the Warner’s farm, and fished. In 1960, Ormand joined the Air Force, serving in Biloxi, MS; and Chandler, MN. He was proud to serve his country and continued until 1966 when he began a new chapter working at ADC/Onan in St. Peter, MN. 

It was during this time Ormand met the love of his life, Lois. They quickly began their life together as husband and wife adopting their first of many cats, Booty, and beginning a family that would include four children - Jeff, Lori, David, and Holly. Family was everything to Ormand. He continued the tradition of summers at the cabin and built lasting memories for his family through many camping, fishing, and road trips.

A man of few words, strong faith, and much humor, Ormand always tried to lighten the load for those around him and will be remembered for his kindness, always. At least, that’s what Custer said.

Ormand is survived by his wife Lois; four children Jeff (Raye) Reynolds, Lori (Chris) Krohn, David (Tracy) Reynolds, Holly (Tony) Brimeyer; sister Beverly Lohman; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Clinton and Helen; brothers-in-law Joseph Gleisner and Donald Lohman; nephew Dan VanCamp; and niece Linda Ryg.

Ormand’s family would like to extend special thanks to following:

Oak Terrace Assisted Living, Autumn Lane - The nurses and staff made Ormand feel at home during his time there and it was truly a blessing for the family to know that their husband/father/grandfather was so well cared for.

Hospice Care, Mayo Health System - Thank you for allowing Ormand peace as he transitioned from this world to the next.

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church - The support and visits to Ormand and Lois were a comfort to them and the family through this difficult time.

Funeral services will be Friday, April 12, 2024 at 1 P.M. at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato, with Pastor Ken Mellon officiating. Military honors will be held immediately following the service at Woodland Hills Chapel. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.
