James C. “Jim” Kettwig, 86, passed away on Nov. 18 at Pathstone Living.

A Celebration of Jim's life will be held Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3 P.M. at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato, with Pastor Jeff Peterson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to American Cancer Society or Pathstone Living of Mankato.

Jim’s family will greet friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:30 P.M. until the hour of services at Woodland Hills Funeral Home.

Jim was born June 7, 1931 in Britton, S.D. to Carl and Pearl (Clay) Kettwig. He graduated from Canton High School  in 1949. He married Ginger (Ruble) Mainer on June 21, 1980.
Jim was a long time employee of  the Chesley Co. working his way up from the parts department to manager in Sioux Falls to a top salesman in Mankato.

Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved reading spiritual books.

From his childhood he had a remarkable relationship with Jesus and reaffirmed this by being baptized at Multi-Church in 1983. Jim's body struggled with health issues for many years, most recently with cancer, but his spirit was not defeated. Those close to Jim know he was a gift from God, a message to endure, to cherish our loved ones, not be fearful and mostly to share love.

Jim is survived by Ginger his wife of 37 years; a son James R. (Kathy) Kettwig; a daughter by marriage Susie Mainer; step-sons, Thomas and Kevin; sister-in-law, Sue Ruble; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tim; sister-in-law, Millie; mother and father-in-law, Don and Margaret Ruble; brother-in law, Donald C. Ruble.
