Richard E Styer left his family and friends to go home to heaven on December 2, 2017.  He was born in Menomonie, Wisconsin on September 4, 1925.  In 1945 he met the love of his life, Ione Miller.  They would have celebrated 70 years together in February of 2018.  He loved driving semi trucks for Madsen's and Randall's for over 33 years. He retired in 1989 to enjoy winters in Arizona in their RV.   He and Ione spent the last 9 years at New Perspective Community which became their extended family.  There are no words to express our gratitude to the staff of this organization.  Each staff member personally demonstrated their love and care to Dick and Ione not only in the last 9 years, but especially to them in DIck’s final days.  Their compassion was unmeasurable.  He will truly missed by his wife, Ione, his daughters - Kathy Styer of Hermosa Beach, California,  Karla Gottry (Steve) of Phoenix, Arizona and Konnie Pierson (Keith) of Mankato and his brother, Norbert Styer (Elaine) of Albuquerque, NM.        He adored his grandchildren, Maisie Fossie (Sean) of Minneapolis, Cory Pierson (Jessica) of Lakeville, and Kalla Page Gottry of Phoenix, Arizona; step children Jon Gottry, Bloomington, Minnesota and Michelle Johnson (Jared) of Remer, Minnesota.  His great grandchildren added so much joy to his life -- Isaiah, Miles, Desmond, Norah and Adelyn.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 5, 4 - 7 PM at Woodland Hills Funeral Home.  Services on Wednesday December 6 at 11 AM at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. Visitation 1 hour prior to  service.
