Nellie was born on January 7, 1930 to Petrus and Hendrika (Kilsdonk) Buurman in the Netherlands.  She lived there with her family and on June 17, 1950 she was united in marriage to Heinrich Tummers.  In May of 1955, she, her husband and two small children, Joe and Rikie, immigrated to the Unties States to be with family and to pursue the American dream.  When here, Nellie spent the first few years learning how to speak English by watching game shows on TV and raising her children.  Soon enough, Nellie joined the work force and spent many years as a supervisor at Johnson Fishing until retirement. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with and being Oma to all of her family and friends, traveling (especially to casinos), watching Judge Judy, and camping.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Joe (Erica) Tummers, Cassie (Jeff) Spriggs, Chris Warner, Kate (Eric) Friday, and Tacie Schwartz; her great grandchildren, Dominic, Ally, Lily, TJ, and Max; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded by her husband, Heinrich Tummers; her son, Joe Tummers; her daughter, Rikie Warner; her son-in-law, Tim Warner; her parents, Petrus and Hendrika Buurman; her brothers, Evert and Rinus, and sisters, Grace (Sis), Rika, and Regina.
