James "Jim" Marvin Buesing, 69, passed away Friday, January 26th, 2018 at the Mayo Hospital in Mankato. He passed away peacefully after succumbing to complications related to multiple myeloma.

Jim is survived by his beloved daughters, Jody and Jenny Buesing of Minneapolis, his spouse, Marie Buesing of Spring Valley, California, and his brother, Jeff of Minnetonka, as well as many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Tom and Rick. He was a loving father, partner, brother and friend to all.

Jim is a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals, including the Purple Heart. He grew up in Mankato, the eldest son of Diedrich and Bea (Jans). Jim was an artist with a pen and a paintbrush, spending his life as a professional sign painter. He lived many years in San Diego, where he enjoyed perfect weather and spending time with his step-children and family. Jim was a devoted Vikings fan, a cribbage master, and a grizzly man with a soft side, especially for his family. He loved to fish and spend time with his dogs over the years.

A private military service will be held at Woodland Hills on Wednesday, January 31st. A Remembrance of Jim will follow at the VFW Morson-Ario. His family will greet friends from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Post 2082 of Lemon Grove, California or the Minnesota Valley Action Council.

Jody & Jenny,
I am so sorry to hear about your Dad! I know he was so sick, and really wanted to be independent- this he was able to do for quite some time! Every time we talked, he always talked with so much pride about you both. His hopes were to get healthy enough to live closer to you both, he made that goal when he came back to MN.
My love to you both.
