Melba Bernice Dawley, 96, of St. Peter, MN passed peacefully Monday, March 11, 2019 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato with Chaplain Gary Creech officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.

Melba was born May 29, 1922 in Lake Crystal, MN to Everett and Bertha (Hutchens) Davis.  She grew up and attended school in Lake Crystal.  On May 29, 1941 she married Averill Dawley in Lake Crystal.  She worked for over 20 years as laundry manager at St. Peter Community Hospital.

Melba was a very caring person always willing to help anyone.  She liked flower gardening, watching Billy Graham on TV and always liked to keep busy.  She especially loved taking care of her family.

She is survived by her sons; Timothy J. (Cindy) Dawley, Lake Crystal, MN and Craig Dawley, St. Petersburg, FL; daughter, Cynthony (Doug) Mulenburg of Darwin, MN; 22 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Lorna Carl, Kettering, OH.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Colleen Bell and Carolyne Worjois; brother, Fred and sister, Sally.
