Michael Dean Evans, 55, North Mankato, died Monday, April 22, 2019 at his home under hospice care.   Visitation will be held from 10am – 3pm Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3pm.  Interment will be at Woodland Hills Outdoor Mausoleum.

Mike was born August 15, 1963 to Larry and Carol Evans in Mankato.  He graduated from Mankato West in 1981.  He was united in marriage to Robin Groebner on Valentine’s Day of 2003.  Mike had a thirst for knowledge. He loved to learn and loved his job, having worked at MICO for nearly 30 years.  As an avid hobbiest, Mike enjoyed technology, building RC planes, photography, music, running, and the Green Bay Packers.  When he wasn’t tinkering, Mike could be found soaking up the sun in his signature Hawaiian shirts.  He was compassionate about all animals; it wasn’t unusual for Mike to stop to help a turtle cross the road.  Although he didn’t speak of it much, Mike was proud of his sobriety.  Mike loved his family more than anything, but he especially loved being a dad.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Evans; daughters, Mylei and Emma; all of North Mankato; his 3 spoiled rescue dogs; parents, Larry and Carol Evans; brother, Jonathan Evans of Mankato; Robin’s parents, Jerry and Marie Groebner; Robin’s brothers, Rob (Deb) Groebner, Russ Groebner, and Rick (Debbie) Groebner; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Mike is preceded in death by his grandparents and puppies, Calvin and Zach.
