   Thelma F. Watkins, age 96 of Minnesota Lake, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at her home.
   A Celebration of Thelma’s Life is POSTPONED. Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato is assisting the family with arrangements.
   Thelma Florence was born on September 1, 1924 to Henry and Hazel (Harvey) Greenwald in Minnesota Lake, MN. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School, and moved to Minneapolis where she was employed by Honeywell. On May 19, 1951 she was united in marriage to George Evanson in Minneapolis. In 1972 Thelma and George moved their family to Pennsylvania. Thelma returned to her roots in 1996, moving back to Minnesota Lake. In 2008 she was united in marriage to Dr. John Watkins of Wells. They had 3 wonderful years together before his passing in 2012. Thelma’s faith was central to her life and she was a dedicated member of her church. Thelma was an avid antique collector and decorator. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, and entertaining family and friends.
   She is survived by her daughter, Jane (Carl) Strickland of Aston, PA; son, Joel (Valerie) Evanson of Phoenixville, PA, daughter-in-law, Vanny Evanson of Seattle, WA; step-children, Yvonne (Carter) Leland of Bricelyn, Joan Watkins of St. Paul, David (Patty) Watkins of Northfield, Douglas (Nancy) Watkins of Sartell, Lynne (Jeff) Lyon of Yorktown, VA; 8 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 7 step-great grandchildren; by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends.
   She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; 2 sons, John Evanson and Jeff Evanson; 2 brothers; 2 sisters.
