Shirley M. Roeker, 83, Eagle Lake, died on her birthday, Sunday May 23, 2021 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.  Memorial services will be held 11am Friday, May 28, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran in Janesville with a visitation one hour prior to the services.  Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.  Online condolences may be left at

Shirley was born May 23, 1938 to George and Lillian (Herley) Brooks in Morristown.  She graduated from Morristown High School.  Shirley was united in marriage to Ervin Roeker on December 5, 1959 at St John’s Lutheran in Alma City.  She worked as a daycare provider and at the Paperbox Corporation.  In her free time Shirley enjoyed crocheting, bird watching, and camping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran in Janesville where she was involved in the Trinity Ladies Aid, Trinity Seniors, and Trinity Dorcas Society as well as VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband, Ervin Roeker of Eagle Lake; sons, Tom Roeker of Eagle Lake and Jerry (Diane) Roeker of Smiths Mill; Grandchildren, Sadie (Tom) Herrick, Joseph (Becky) Roeker, Cally (Derek Handt)  Roeker, Tracy Adler, Robyn (Tim Shorter) Roeker, and Grace Roeker; great grandchildren, Thomas & Madison Herrick, Ayden & Emily Roeker, and Samuel & Matthew Adler; brother, Dean (Adele) Brooks of Germany; and many nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Molly (Stanley) Laura (August), Mary (Ivan), Bonnie (George) and Millie (Lee); brother, Wally (Adeline) and infant brother; and grandson in-law, John Adler.
