Andy Anderson

LeRoy “Andy” Anderson, 85, Mankato, died Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral services will be held 11am Monday July 24, 2023 at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be two hours prior to the services.  Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.  woodlandhillsfh.com. 

Andy was born August 3, 1937 in Mankato to Roy and Genevieve (Boshart) Anderson.  He served in the US Army from October 1957 – June 1966.  Andy was united in marriage to Judy Houge on April 11, 1975 in Mankato.  He worked in farming and trucking.  Andy enjoyed traveling while he was in the service. Andy a story teller of  his travels and friends he met along the way. He was proud of the thousands of miles he had driven has a truck drive. When he went to part time retirement he drove for Anderson Farm delivering sweet corn to their vendors. He would always give his advice of how wonderful the sweet corn was but also how to store it to stay fresh longer. Anyone who knew Andy recognized what a generous and giving person he was. He was very proud of his family and spoke often of Judy, Cindy and Steve.
 
 He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Shriners, Mankato Masons Lodge 12, Mankato T- Birds, American Legion DAV and VFW – Vietnam. 

 Andy is survived by daughter, Cindy (Steve) Medenwald of Mankato; grand puppies, Yogi and Tootsie; brothers, Dennis (Shirley) Huber of LaCresent and Charles Anderson of Medford; sister, Kathleen Anderson of Fort Wayne, IN; many nieces and nephews and many close friends.

He usually would end a conversation with " Have a great day today and a better one tomorrow."

He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy in 2014; parents: and brothers, Howard and Duane.
