Antoinette was born November 17, 1924 in Mankato, Mn. to George and Alma (Anderson) Salfer in the big stone house on the prairie. She attended St. Peter and Paul school and completed the eighth grade.

Nettie met Leroy Frost, a handsome soldier home on leave, while working at the Pastry Palace as a waitress. She later went on to work at St. Joseph Hospital.

Nettie married that handsome soldier Leroy in Aberdeen, Maryland on November 12, 1944 while Roy was still in the Army. They returned to Mankato to begin their married life, and to raise their family which grew to 4 children.

Nettie became a lifelong homemaker and accepted the roll of “office manager” for her husband’s business of Frost Well Service. Nettie was a wonderful cook and always had a meal ready to be prepared and the pot of coffee brewing for anyone who might come to the door. If you came, you never went away hungry and you were never a stranger again. Whenever a neighbor needed to borrow a cup of sugar or whatever, they always knew who’s house to come to. Nettie was a very good neighbor and friend, and was loved by her friends in return. She was an extremely hard worker from a very young age on the farm, to taking care of and canning everything produced by their very large garden. But when spring arrived, there was always time for picking bouquets of violets, her favorite flower!

Nettie and Roy celebrated 61 years of marriage together until his death in 2006. She has waited a long time to be reunited with him.

Nettie is survived by her 4 children, Linda (Mike), Louise (Cliff), Lynette “Lynn” and John; 8 grandchildren, Gillian, Rebecca, Shana, Sean, Curtis, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Logan; 11 great-grandchildren, Madeline, Gavin, Samantha, Caleb, Kellen, Makayela, Trevor, Hunter, Riley, Emily, and Avery; brother, Larry.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; 3 sisters; 1 brother; 1 half-brother.

Blessed be her memory.
