Art was born June 14, 1937 to Alvin and Lydia (Lippert) Hiller in Fredonia, North Dakota. He graduated from Jamestown High School where he meets the love of his life, Mary Jo Fischer. Mary Jo and Art were married on Valentine’s Day 1958 in Jamestown. He served in the National Guard from 1957 until retiring on his birthday (and Flag Day) of 1997. He worked as a bank examiner and in construction. In his free time Art enjoyed hunting, fishing, curling, Minnesota and local sports, softball and his children’s sports. He was a member of the Eagles Club, Elks Club, Moose Club, VFW, Ducks Unlimited, Disabled American Veterans and was a volunteer fireman.
He is survived by wife, Mary Jo Hiller of Mankato; sons, Timothy (Ronnie) Hiller of Las Vegas and Jay Hiller of Fort Collins, CO; daughter, Shelly Hiller of Sandpoint, ID; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Art is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Arlene Ebel and Marvalene Schulz.
