Audrey Mae Key, age 91, of Mankato, Minnesota entered heaven, Friday, September 16, 2022, at Benedictine Living Community, in St. Peter, Minnesota. 

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Hilltop United Methodist Church, in Mankato, Minnesota.  Visitation will be on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements. Woodlandhillsfh.com

Audrey was born February 19, 1931, an only child to Harry and Pearl Pritchard, in Pipestone, Minnesota.  Audrey lived and attended school in Luverne, Minnesota.  At her graduation party, she met her husband, Robert Key.  He was attending with his niece, Doris Kolbert (Cowan), a classmate of hers.  They married on June 8, 1952, and spent 62 years together, until Robert’s death in 2014. From that marriage, they were blessed with two daughters, Linda L. Key and Alison L. Key Nelson.  They saw much of the State of Minnesota during this time, as Robert was a music teacher and school administrator.  At last count, approximately, 10 different small towns were called home.  The family enjoyed ice fishing on the Yellow Medicine River and fishing on many other Minnesota and Wisconsin lakes. 

Audrey worked at Nelson’s in Luverne, Minnesota, at a bank in St. Paul, MN, and in Brownton, MN.  She also worked at the Ben Franklin Store, in Mankato, MN, during one of their several moves back to Mankato.  Audrey enjoyed music, sewing, gardening, arts and crafts, reading, and taking care of her family, especially looking after her granddaughter, Hailey Nelson.  Audrey was involved in the Hilltop United Methodist Church Bible Study Group and loved her weekly gatherings.

During her lifetime, Audrey survived two separate battles with cancer. 

Audrey is survived by her daughters Linda Key(Sue) of White Bear Lake, MN and Alison Key Nelson (Bob) of Mankato, MN; grandchildren Rob(Cheyenne), David(Jennifer), Roger, Mitch(Erin), and Hailey(Mike); great grandchildren Dalton, Chloe, Brodie, Madison, Victoria, Shawn, and Ramsey; great great grandchildren Mia and Haven.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
