​Vernon Center, MN – Barbara Sieberg passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, care, and devotion to her family.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 11 A.M. at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park.

Born on September 1, 1935, to James "Ray" and Catherine "Kate" (Ziemer) Banks, Barbara grew up with a natural inclination to help others. This led her to pursue a career in healthcare, graduating from nursing school in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was during her time in Colorado that fate stepped in, and she met Willard "Bill" Sieberg.

​Barbara and Willard were married July 2nd, 1955, and eventually settled in Eagle Lake, Minnesota, where they built a beautiful life together and raised their four daughters. She was a lifetime member and past president of the Eagle Lake American Legion Auxiliary Unit 617. She was a homemaker and babysat the neighborhood children while raising her girls. She was employed by Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital as an admissions clerk. Barbara’s life was defined by her gentle spirit and her willingness to put family first. Following the passing of her beloved husband, she relocated to Sandy, Oregon, dedicated to caring for her mother and grandmother in their later years. In 2019, Barbara returned to Minnesota, making her home in Vernon Center, where she resided until her passing.

​Barbara found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. She loved watching hummingbirds visit her garden, lost herself in the pages of a good book or crossword puzzles, and spent countless hours crocheting and knitting beautiful keepsakes for those she loved. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom will deeply miss her warmth, wisdom, and gentle presence.

​She is survived by her daughters Diane Sieberg Vernon Center, Karen (David) Rivera Mankato, Sandy Sieberg Good Thunder, Linda Anderson Vernon Center. Grandchildren Matthew Hall, Adam Hall, Danielle (Chris) Wakefield, Jessica Nies, Emilee (Aaron Persons) Anderson, Kellie (Trevor) Prange, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Lila, brothers, Ray, Lyle, and Dale, and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
