Belle I. King, 99, died Monday, September 1, 2025 at Oak Terrace in North Mankato. Funeral Services will be held at 11am Saturday September 6, 2025 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4- 7pm Friday September 5, 2025 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. woodlandhilsfh.com
Belle was born November 1, 1925 in Mankato to Arthur and Gertrude (Danner) Roe. She graduated from High School in 1943 and went on to LPN Training. Belle worked as a nurse at Immanuel Hospital, Home Health Care and at MRCI. She was a member of the LPN Nurses Association and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. In her free time Belle enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, and her family.
She is survived by sons, John Fitzpatrick of Eagle Lake. Robert (Jeanette) Edwards of Mankato, Jeffery (Kari) Edwards of Mankato, and Timothy (Carolyn) Edwards of North Mankato; daughters, Judith (Bruce) Burnett of North Mankato, Karen (Brian) Borchardt of Eagan, and Kathleen (Steve) Nelson of Lakeville; daughter in-law, Lois Fitzpatrick of Mankato; seventeen grandchildren: 34 great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Belle is preceded in death by parents; Arthur and Gertrude Roe; daughter, Sandra Bender; son in-law Larry Bender; sons, Joseph Fitzpatrick and David Edwards; grandson, Jason Bender; granddaughter, Ashley Edwards; three husbands, Leo Fitzpatrick, Thomas Edwards, and Arnold King; three brothers & their spouses and two sisters and their spouses.
