Betty L. Joyce, age 81, of rural Janesville, MN, passed away on May 19, 2022 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Mankato. Betty, the daughter of Harold and Ethel (Ewert) Jans, was born on April 20, 1941 at Immanuel Hospital in Mankato, MN. She graduated from Pemberton High School. Betty and Ron G. Joyce were married on September 23, 1967.

Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed a variety of hobbies; crocheting, flower gardening, baking and reading. Many of her hobbies are also enjoyed by her children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Ron; children: Jode Joyce (Lou Hanson) of Laguna Hills, CA, and Jeane (Sean McGraw) of Good Thunder; brother Richard (Doris) Jans, sister-in-law Renae Jans; grandchildren Erin, Aidan and Mitchell McGraw; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Marlin and his wife Eloise, her sister LaVonne Hurd, and brother Ronald.

Betty touched many hearts with her kindness, thoughtfulness and fun sense of humor. Betty was loved by all and will be greatly missed. 

Betty didn’t want a funeral or to ever be the cause of anyone’s sorrow. Per her request, there will be no services other than a private gathering of her immediate family. The family thanks the nurses at Andreas Cancer Center-Mayo Health System. Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato is assisting the family with arrangements.

As Betty would say, “Auch der Liber” (Oh, heavens).
