Betty Jean Warnke, 93, formerly of Mankato, died Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center in Burnsville. Funeral services will be held 11am Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. woodlandhillsfh.com
Betty was born February 20, 1929 to Harold and Aggie (Sasse) Handahl in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School and went on to Beautician School and worked as a beautician. She was united in marriage to John Warnke in Winthrop on June 1, 1952. Betty loved to be with her family; especially her grandchildren and she also enjoyed working in her yard.
She is survived by son, Gregg (Sandee) Warnke; grandchildren, Daniel (Tamara) Warnke, Holly (Matt) Kiehn, Corey Warnke, Tyler La Duke, Justin Kump, Jennifer Douglas, and Dana La Duke; sister, Audrey (John) Connor; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Handahl; sister in-law, Carol Warnke; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Darald; brother, Gordon Handahl; sisters in-law, Lola Handahl, Judy Warnke, and Shirley Kawell; and brothers in-law, Monard Kawell, Melvin Warnke and Dale Warnke
