Carol Joyce Hall died peacefully at the home of her son Brent (Tami) Hall on December 30, 2022 at the age of 94. She was born on October 21, 1928 to Clarence & Mae (Hansen) Knudson in Camrose, Alberta, Canada. A celebration of Carol’s life will be on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Woodland Hills Chapel.
She chose the career of nursing and worked many years at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota in the area of critical care and cardiac care. She was known for her compassion and spunky personality and many of her co-workers and former patients stayed in touch with her. She deeply loved her family and hosted many holiday gatherings at the ‘farm’ and at her lake home. She was an accomplished pianist and loved music, reading, and camping. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, gardening, and in her later years you would find her doing crossword puzzles. She grew up in beautiful Alberta, Canada and loved the mountains. Being out in nature is where she was most at home. She enjoyed watching the animals but had an ongoing war with the squirrels who would get in the way of her favorite pastime of bird watching. She taught all who would listen the names and sounds of each bird. She appreciated the beauty of flowers, the woods, lake, and sky. She loved God and never ceased to be amazed at the masterpieces that He created around her each day.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Mae Knudson, former husband Dr. Richard A. Hall, and life companion Darreld Pahl. She is survived and will be missed by her sisters Jean (Jack) Mattson and Mona Anderson, daughters Shelley (Tom) Fix and Lynn (Teddy) Ferguson, sons Richard (Amy) Hall and Brent (Tami) Hall,16 grandchildren – Jessica (Fix) Weber, Chad Fix, Amanda Wilkman, Ashley (Wilkman) Reyes, Richard ‘Joshua’ Hall, Rachel (Hall) Utrera, Rebecca Hall, Jacob Hall, Hadassah (Hall) Leikwold, Sarah (Hall) Neil, Josiah Hall, Leah Hall, Marah Hall, Elijah Hall, Katie Hall, Jessica (Hall) Montesand and 9 great-grandchildren – Stella Weber, Jasper Weber, Iyla Fix, Ayana Fix, Lena Reyes, Luka Reyes, Aurelia Utrera, Asher Leikwold, Parker Leikwold; long-time family and friends Vi Baker and Karl Wilkman, and many other friends and relatives.
