Carole Jean (Schueneman) Harlow was born in Janesville, MN, June 26, 1934 to Cecelia Fern Bolinger and Walter Emil Schueneman. She attended Janesville Public School through ninth grade when the family moved to Mankato for better opportunities. Carole started work as a waitress at an early age. Part of her duties included watching her mentally challenged baby sister.
Carole was employed by Paper Box/Mankato Corporation for 35 years. In 1959 she met Charles LeRoy Harlow and were married 3-23-1963. They bought a fifteen acre hobby farm in rural Beauford/Mapleton township. Two years ago, she sold the hobby farm and moved to Mankato.
She was an avid bowler, winning many championships and will be inducted into the Mankato Bowling Hall of Fame October 21st, joining her brother Curtis. Over the years, Carol had developed many friends through work and bowling.Needless to say, she was a generous woman who supported her family, church, and needy organizations.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Chuck and Duane, sisters Betty and Vicki, sister-in-law Kathleen, her husband Charles of 54 years and niece Lisa.
She is survived by brothers Warren (Jonathan) and Curtis (Marilyn), stepsons Richard and Dennis Harlow, nieces Deborah, Melissa (Jay), Judy (Jeff), and Tracy (Tony); nephews, Stanley, Donald (C.J.), Mark, Chad and many great and great- great nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church 421 N 2nd St. Mankato, MN with Pastor Joseph Naumann officiating. Immediately following services all are invited to lunch and a time of fellowship at the church. Following the lunch interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.
Visitation will be held on Saturday morning for one hour prior to services at the church. Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato is assisting the family with arrangements. www.woodlandhillsfh.com
