Darlene Marie Hawker

Darlene Marie Hawker, age 68, of Eagle Lake, MN died Friday, March 24, 2023 at home with her family after a battle with cancer.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel in Mankato. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato.  Woodland Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Darlene was born December 19, 1954 in Mankato, Minnesota to Fred and Mary (Miller) Lenertz.  She grew up in Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School. On August 10, 1974, she married Darwin Hawker and the couple made their home in Eagle Lake.  Darlene worked for various places including Stelter’s Sewing Center, Hauger Manufacturing, Onan Manufacturing and ISD77 at Eagle Lake School as Head Cook and retired in 2018.  Darlene loved sewing, gardening, reading, fishing, cooking, baking and especially time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Darwin of Eagle Lake, MN, son, Damian (Jen) Hawker of North Mankato; daughter Danielle (Eric) Timm of North Mankato; grandchildren, Garrett Timm and Emma Lyons; sisters, Linda Lenertz of Mankato, Teresa (Greg) Sack of Janesville, Michelle (Pat) Lenertz, Janesville; brothers, Ken (Kellie) Lenertz of Wells, David (Jean) Lenertz of Janesville; She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred & Mary Lenertz and in-laws, Lyle & Lillia Hawker.  Special thanks to Mayo Hospice East team for their care and support.
