David L. Dierenfeld, 78, died at home on Friday, December 26, 2025 and is with Jesus for eternity.
Dave was born in Chandler, MN and grew up on the family farm. He attended Northwestern College in Orange, City, IA, earning a degree in Social Work, followed by a masters degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. It was there where he met and married Cheryl on December 27, 1973. He worked the majority of his career as a Social Worker in Protective Services for Children. He was a long time member of Crossview Covenant Church where he served faithfully. His favorite past times included gardening, woodworking and spending time with family.
Dave is survived by his wife Cheryl, mother Nellie Dierenfeld, his children Jon (Amanda) of Upsala, MN, Dan (Anna) of Centennial, CO, Tom (Celeste) of Loveland CO. Grandchildren: Jacob and Susie Dierenfeld, Levi, Cora and Etta Dierenfeld, Marie and Michael Dierenfeld. Siblings: Rodney (Carolyn) Dierenfeld of Willmar, MN; Nancy (Phil) Bach of Orange City, IA, and Barb (Dodd) Franklin of Cresco, IA: and many nieces and nephews.
Dave is preceded in death by his father Wallace Dierenfeld, and niece Cindy Dierenfeld.
Wednesday, December 31, visitation will be held at 10:00am, funeral at 11:00am and lunch following at Woodland Hills Funeral Home (1605 Woodland Ave) in Mankato, MN.
