Delores Lucy Hartwig passed away on March 22nd, 2023 at Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center in Mankato.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 31st from 4-6 p.m. at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato. Private family service will be held afterward. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. She was born January 5th 1927, to William and Mary Duscher in Redwood Falls, MN and was the youngest of nine children. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School and worked for a time in bookkeeping. She married Elmer Hartwig on August 12th, 1949 in Redwood Falls where they lived for a few years before moving to Mankato. They raised four daughters in their home on Skyline where they lived for over 60 years as some of the first residents.

Delores had many interests/hobbies during her life. She had a very green thumb and our home was always filled with plants. She was a cat lover who made regular contributions to the American Humane Society and sponsored several cats through them, as well as owning many cats over the years. When her daughters were all in school and/or starting their careers, she became a hospital and hospice volunteer. She also took a course in home nursing through the hospital. She enjoyed classical and swing music. Delores did a lot of macrame in the 1970’s and roped her younger daughters into helping her tie knots on various projects! She enjoyed cooking shows and was also an avid reader who passed that love of reading along to her daughters.

Delores is survived by her daughters Sandra, Debra, Jane, and Heather (Duane) Isaacs as well as her beloved cat Winston. She is preceded in death by her husband Elmer, and her siblings Ed, LeRoy, Raymond, William, Jim, Rose, Norma, and Maryann.
