Donald Snyder Obituary

Donald Frank Snyder, age 78 of North Mankato, Minnesota, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato, Minnesota.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Don was born on September 18th, 1945. He was raised by his parents, Claude and Elsie Snyder in Mankato, MN. Don graduated from Mankato High School. Shortly after graduating he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a proud veteran. He fell in love and married Linda on May 13th, 1967. Don enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, exploring nature, learning about geography and history but most important to him was his family. Both Don and Linda had a passion for flowers and plants and were very proud to show off their gardens.

He is survived by his daughter Rebecca (Jeff) Welp of Madison Lake, MN; granddaughters Ashley (Jordan) Wilmes of St. Peter, MN; Sidney (Mitch) Johnson of St. Peter, MN; Jacey Welp of Madison Lake, MN; Ariadne Snyder of Apple Valley, MN; grandson Max Welp of Madison Lake, MN; great grandson Lincoln Wilmes of St. Peter, MN; great granddaughter Emma Wilmes of St. Peter, MN; sisters Dorothy (John) Kurkowski of Sun City, AZ; Joyce (Ed) Simanek of Georgetown, TX; Janet (Jerome) Haefner of Mankato, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and cherished friends.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, his son, John Snyder, and his parents Claude and Elsie Snyder.
