Donald Wayne Stuve, Jr. 84, of Mankato, passed away October 15, 2025 peacefully surrounded by loved ones at home after a battle with cancer. Service will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Centenary United Methodist Church at 501 S. 2nd Street Mankato, Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato and will continue one hour prior to the service at church.
Don was born June 14th, 1941 to Donald Stuve and Bridell (Smith) Stuve in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1960 and joined the Marine Crops. He was stationed with the First Marine Airway, out of El Toro Marine Corps base in California. He was awarded the rank of Corporal. He was united in marriage to Nina (Goodman) Stuve July 29, 1961 in Sunland, CA. After serving his time, they returned to Mankato, where became a Master plumber with the Plumber & Fitters Union 34 and worked until he was in his late 70’s. He enjoyed spending his time with family and friends and was an avid hunter & fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his children, Dewey Stuve of Mankato, Ron (Kitty) Stuve of Mankato, Tammy (Tom) Petterson of Lake Crystal & Dawn (Ken) Kroells of North Mankato. Grandchildren Jesse Stuve (Haydin Grotz) Yakutat, AK, Amber (Cody) Shimer Pine Island, Adam (Carly) Petterson of Lake Crystal, Lexy Stuve of Brainerd, Morgan (Tyler) Lambert of St Cloud, Donnie Petterson of Madelia, Noah Kroells & Nicole Kroells of North Mankato. Great Grandchildren Jamieson, Lincoln, Walker Shimer, Elsie Petterson & Georgia Lambert. Siblings Helen (Bruce) Klugherz, & MaryJo (Richard) DeGonda, Larry (Marti) Stuve. Proceeded in death by his beloved wife Nina (Goodman) Stuve, parents, Donald & Bridell (Smith) Stuve, In-laws Edward & June (Flurry) Goodman, siblings, Phil (Millie) Stuve, & Pat (Jerry) Ramin, & Joyce (Bill) Blanck. We are deeply grateful for the compassionate care given by the St Croix hospice care team.
