Dorothy Lorraine George, 99, Mankato passed away Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Pathstone Living in Mankato. Private Family services will be held. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Dorothy’s family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the St. Croix Hospice team and Pathstone Care Center team for taking such good care of our mother. Memorials are preferred to CAPSTRONG Corporation, capgeorge.com which is in memory of Dorothy’s great-grandson Cap George (grandson of Steve and Katie George)
Dorothy was born on April 2, 1924 to Fred and Laura (Mees) Erdman in Willow Creek, MN. She was united in marriage to Michael George Sr on July 24, 1944. Dorothy was a “Rosie the Riveter” during WW2. She worked as a Cook at Golden Heart Child Care Center, North Mankato before retiring. Dorothy’s hobbies included sewing, swimming and exercising at the Y.M.C.A, running, gardening, enjoyed having a beer with family and friends while listening to bands. She belonged to a camping club with her husband and children.
She is survived by: Sons- Steve (Katie) of Northfield, Dale (Kathy) of Mankato, Michael Jr. (Jacquelene) of Lake Crystal, Jerome of Mankato, Darren (Kelly) of Carmel, Indiana; Daughters- Rebecca Troldahl of Lake Crystal, Kristin Nett (Paul) of St. Clair; Dorothy’s 52 Grandchildren/Great-grandchildren/Great-Greatgrandchildren: Chris (Stephanie), David (Tonya), Amy (Ryan), Julie, Molly, Cap, Cooper, Cullen, Mason, Isla G., Nils, Eden, Aron, Nathan, Aaron (Randy), Adrianna, Jaiden, Kevin, Alison (Leigh), Andrew, McKayla (Blake), Sierra (Jonny), Milayna, Adyson, Huntley, Colten, Hazel, Braxton, Isla S., Brooks, Cari, Kimberly (Nick), Jennifer, Peter, Olivia, Karlie, Abbie, Jacob, Jade (Marcus), McKenna (Troy), Tony (Ashley), Shawn, Ave, Sire, Landon, Max, Mila, Oliver, Victoria, Michael (Merlin), Annika, Amarah and many nieces and nephews
