Gary David Karstens

Gary David Karstens, 66 of Mankato MN, passed away peacefully on February 12th, 2025. Born on January 16, 1959 in San Diego, CA, he was the son of Gary Frank Karstens and Geneen (Schoonover) Karstens. 

Gary grew up in Madison Lake, MN and attended Mankato East High School. He was passionate about his country, animal rights, fishing, biking and playing with his fun cats.  He loved being a local and national truck driver for most of his career. His favorite vacation was to see his daughter and grandchildren in Maui. Gary had a stroke in January of 2024 and exceeded all expectations for recovery and was able to live independently at home with his two beloved cats for an additional year. 

He is survived by his loving daughter and caretaker Amber (Meade) Aivazian (Alen), two grandsons Billy Ray and Charlie Joe; three siblings Brad Karstens (Carolyn), Mark Karstens (Shirley), Trish Clyne (Dave). Nieces and nephews Krista, Kendra(Scott), Kale(Renee), Jessica, Nicholas, Jake (Emily), Dan (Amanda) Chad and many great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
