Glen E. Seigfreid, age 89, of North Mankato, died March 30, 2022 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church, North Mankato. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the church and will continue one hour before services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church.
Glen was born August 17, 1932 to Virgil and Elsie (Weeks) Seigfreid in Hancock County, IL. He was a graduate of Winnebago High School and attended Mankato State University before electing to serve his country as a member of the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean War. He married Thelma Kinney December 5, 1953 at the Winnebago Methodist Church. They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. He was employed with the Minnesota Department of Transportation for 26 years as a Senior Highway Tech. Glen was an active member at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church and faithfully served on many church committees. Glen’s pastimes included, watching sports, doing crossword puzzles, reading, and meeting new people that would quickly become friends. However, Glen’s most cherished activity was the time he spent with his wife and family.
Glen is survived by his wife, Thelma; daughter, Glenda (Mike) Wersal of Red Wing; son, Tom (Sheila) Seigfreid of Spirit Lake, IA; 4 grandchildren, Cory Wersal, Curtis Wersal, Sarah Seigfreid and Nicole Seigfreid; several nieces and nephews and many close friends. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Elsie, his brothers, Gene and Gary, and son Tim.
