Harlan Bloomer, 80 of Lake Washington passed away February 10, 2024. Harlan was born to Henry and Hope (Hartwig) Bloomer on June 30, 1943, in Ann Arbor Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a Masters of Fine Arts. Harlan spent much of his career as a professor in the graphic arts department at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He was involved in the art community and directed the Conkling Art Gallery for many years. He was a long-time resident of Lake Washington and thoroughly enjoyed lake life and the many friends he made there. Harlan is survived by his brother Tom (Rosanne) of Ann Arbor, MI., along with many friends he considered family. He is preceded in death by his parents and a series of beloved dogs. Harlan will be buried with his parents in Ann Arbor, MI. A gathering of Harlan’s friends will be held at Westwood on Lake Washington on Saturday March 9th from 4:00-7:00pm. Memorials preferred to Benchs Pet Shelter in Mankato. Woodland Hills Funeral Home is overseeing arrangements.
