Jackie was born on December 4, 1952, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Frank & Adeline (Wilder) Betchwars.  After graduating from Mankato West High School, she continued her education at Mankato Vocational Technical school, earning a degree in administration, and later, a medical transcription degree from Rasmussen College.

On October 28, 1972, Jackie married the love of her life, Francis “Frank” Halla, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Mankato.  Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love.

Jackie dedicated over 30 years of her professional life to the medical field, including many years at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato before retiring.  She was known for her strength, loving nature, her ever-present sense of humor and her beautiful smile no matter how hard things got. She found joy in many things – cooking, exercising, bird watching – but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.  She was a devoted mother and a cherished grandmother and great grandmother; Jackie was always making time for people she loved and finding happiness in life’s simple moments.  She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and countless treasured memories.

Jackie is survived by her loving children; Julie Halla (Dan Saffert), Jeffrey Halla, Nicole (Steve) LaPoint and Christy Halla: eight grandchildren, Zacheri (Hannah) Halla, Desiré Halla (Chris Kielty), Kendall Halla, Madelyn Abel, Jackson Abel, Jacob LaPoint, Owen LaPoint, and Riley Saffert: and 2 great grandchildren: Hudson Kielty and Athena Halla.  She is also survived by her brother Rob (Kim) Betchwars, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis Halla, her parents, Frank & Adeline Betchwars, six brothers, and three sisters.
