James Elias Anton, 82, Mankato, died Saturday, June 10, 2023, at New Perspective in Mankato surrounded by his wife and daughters. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11am Tuesday, June 20th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. woodlandhillsfh.com
Jim was born in 1940 in Mankato to Elias and Ella (Nickels) Anton. He graduated from Mankato High School where he met his wife JoAnn Hynes. On January 30, 1960, Jim and JoAnn Anton were united in marriage. Jim worked for most of his career as a commercial realtor with Midwest Realty and was involved in numerous local and regional restaurants and businesses. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved playing cards with his many friends. He was a member of the Mankato Golf Club, Elks Club, and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
He is survived by wife, JoAnn Anton; daughters, Michelle (Bill) Rosburg, Jackie (Steve) Pool, and Kim Anton; grandchildren, Justin Turcotte, Joe Rosburg, Megan Turcotte; great grandchild, Lee Turcotte; brother, John (Becky) Anton; sister, Sue (Wayne) Ehlers and nieces and nephews.
