Jane Ann Hermanson Obituary

Jane Ann Hermanson died peacefully November 11 at the Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato after a 19 day stay.

Jane was born May 7, 1933 in St. Peter, MN to Edward and Mathilda (Schwichtenberg) Kiewatt. Jane met Roger Hermanson while both were working at Finney Dry Cleaners, Jane as a bookkeeper, Roger as a Presser. After dating for a couple of weeks Roger bought Jane a pair of rollerskates and the rest was history. They were married July 9, 1955. To this union, three children were born; Steven, Kathleen, and Kevin. After Steve was born, Jane worked as a full-time mother and homemaker until the last child Kevin started school. She then worked 30+ years for ISD 77 (at Jefferson School) as a Lunch Room/Playground Supervisor, an Office Assistant, and a Para-Educator.

After her stroke in February 2022, she called the Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center home where she participated in many of the activities, doing arts and crafts, music, movies, etc., even though she was unable to use her left arm/leg.

Jane is survived by her children; Steve (Linda) of Eagan, Kathy (Lon) Whitehead of Mankato, Kevin (Geri) of Kasota. Grandchildren; Joshua and Elizabeth Hermanson, Samuel (Aleesa) Whitehead. Sibling; Carl (Mike) Kiewatt. Brother/ Sister in-laws; Duane Hermanson of Blue Earth, Jean Kruse of St. Clair, Robert (Kim) Betchwars of Ozark, MO, Jacqueline Halla of Mankato. Many nieces/nephews and other extended family.

Preceeded in death by her husband Roger, parents, parent in-laws, 6 brothers (George, Edward, Herman, Maurice, Melvin, Richard) 2 sisters (Emma, Laura) and numerous brother/sister in-laws.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 15 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services at church. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
