Janice L. ‘Toni’ Lund, age 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 7, 2025. She was born in Mankato MN, to Helen and Glen Lindemood. As the oldest of 13, she spent her early years caring for her sisters and beating up any boy who looked at her wrong. Growing up in such a close-knit community, Toni learned the importance of family, faith, and helping others. She carried those values with her throughout her life, passing them down to her children and grandchildren.
Toni was first married at 17 to Dennis Jorgenson and gave birth to her children, Scotty, Lisa and Michelle. At 32, she married Jerry Wesley and gave birth to her daughter Marcie. Later in life, she married Guy Lund at 56. Toni is survived by her daughters, their children, her daughter in law Kathy and son, and grandchildren, as well as her siblings Donna, Jean, Randy, Cheryl, Brad, and their spouses. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Scotty, all 3 of her husbands, as well as her siblings Georgia, Norma, Sandy, Barbara, Karen, Laura, and Rick.
Toni held several different odd jobs over the years, then began working at the Salvation Army in the early 1980’s and stayed there for 30 some years. When she wasn’t working, she was at home in her garden, mowing the lawn, or gathering her family together for food, cards, and croquet. Though she will be deeply missed, her love continues to ripple through her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
A celebration of Toni’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, at the Masonic Lodge in Mankato. The memorial visitation is before the service at 10am. Food and beverages will follow in the same location.
