John Herber, Jr.

John Herber, Jr., age 83, of Mankato, MN passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter, MN.  Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at RSH Hall in Rapidan, MN with Pastor Larry Johnson officiating. There will be a lunch following the service at the Hall.

John was born, August 16, 1940 in Gaylord, MN the son of John Herber, Sr.  and Wanda (Butler).  He grew up and attended school in Mankato. As a kid he worked setting up bowling pins and a Mankato bowling alley, he worked at Abes Shoe Shine in Mankato and also the Mankato outdoor theater. John liked to do leather work, woodworking, squirl hunting and going to the casino.

John is survived by his sisters, Patsy (Dave) Pongratz, LaDonna Barr of Mapleton; brother, Glendon (Pat) Herber of Good Thunder; several nieces and nephews; and his dog Sophie.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Wanda Herber and wife, Karen (Potz) Herber.
