Joseph Earl Fitzpatrick

Joseph Fitzpatrick, age 74, died Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Birchwood Cottages in North Mankato.  Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Woodland Hills Chapel in Mankato with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday (TODAY) at Woodland Hills Funeral Home and will continue 1 hour prior to the service.  Interment with military honors is at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.

Joe was born March 20, 1949 in Mankato, MN to Leo and Belle Fitzpatrick.  He grew up in Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School in 1967.  December 27, 1967 to December 9, 1971 he served in the United States Air Force. On January 23, 2004 he married Lois Hendel in Hawaii.  Joe was a licensed part time police officer for Mankato for 38 years and also worked for Midwest Electric for many years retiring in 2006. He loved to go camping, traveling, bird watching and riding around on his golf cart.  He also enjoyed visiting with people.

Joe is survived by his wife, Lois; mother, Belle King of North Mankato; grandson, who he raised as a son, Tyler (Ashlie) Fitzpatrick of Mankato; several other grandchildren; 3 brothers and 3 sisters; 3 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Vicki Franco of Mankato.  He was preceded in death by his father, 1 sister and 1 brother in infancy.
