Joseph Kelsey, 90, Mankato, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 at Oaklawn Health Care Center.  Memorial services will be held  11am Saturday May 21, 2022 at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Woodland Hills.  Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Midwest Animal Rescue Services (MARS).  https://www.midwestanimalrescue.org/info/donate

Joe was born February 1, 1931 to Harry and Mary (Wondra) Kelsey.  He served in the United States Army.  Joe worked as a janitor and in maintenance for Onan in the Twin Cities and then after he moved to Mankato he worked at his nephews Rapidan Dam Store.    He loved cars, dogs, people, and music. Joe also enjoyed spending time with his niece, Kathy Devens. 

He is survived by children, Roxanne (Paul) Leding, Richard (Cheri) Kelsey, Patrick Kelsey, and Sandra Kelsey; grandchildren, Robin (Chad) Leding-Ross, Adam, Jeffrey, Monte and Lita; and many nieces and nephews. 

Joe is preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph Kelsey Jr; grandchildren, Kristopher Kelsey and Kaylee Kelsey; and siblings, Genevieve Thatcher, Wilfred, Thomas, Edward, and an infant brother and sister. 

Joe’s family would like to thank the staff at Oaklawn for all their care over the years.
