Liam Bruce Loften, age 9 of Mankato, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at his home with his family and his favorite stuffed animal “Foxy Woxy” the Fox by his side, after a courageous battle with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Graveside services will be Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Glenwood Cemetery in Mankato, with Pastor John Loughlin officiating. Woodland Hills Funeral Home of Mankato is handling arrangements.
Liam Bruce was born to Brian James and Vanessa Elizabeth (Shute) Loften on April 21, 2013 in El Paso, Texas. Liam was in 3rd Grade at Washington Elementary School in Mankato, and enjoyed time spent with staff, teachers, and classmates who were very special to him. He was a lover of all animals, however turtles and foxes held a special place in his heart. He especially loved his pet turtle “Reggie”. Liam was also an expert Lego builder and enjoyed all things Star Wars. He loved time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Brian and Vanessa Loften of Mankato, sisters, Brigid and Katrin Loften both of Mankato; grandparents, Dr. James Loften, Caren Austen, Steven Shute and Wayne Selman; by many aunt’s, uncle, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sherry Loften; uncle, Bruce Loften.
