Lorraine A. Campbell

Lorraine A. Campbell, age 94 of St. Peter, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 2 P.M. at Union Presbyterian Church 730 S. 3rd Street St. Peter, MN 56082 with Rev Chris Conlin officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.

Lorraine was born on May 6, 1929 in Mankato, MN to William E. and Lydia (Hanel) Dackins. On July 16, 1949 she was united in marriage to James “Jake” Campbell at Jerusalem Presbyterian Church in Judson, MN. After their marriage they lived in La Crosse WI. for 11 years, and during this time she was employed at the Marshall Dental Clinic as a Dental Assistant. Lorraine and Jake then purchased and managed the A & W Drive-In in Harmony, MN for five years. They then moved to St. Peter in 1960 where they purchased and operated the A & W Drive-In for the next twenty years. Lorraine volunteered at Second Time Around Thrift Store for many years. She was a member of the St. Peter VFW Post #1642 Ladies Auxiliary, and the St. Peter American Legion Post #37 Ladies Auxiliary. Lorraine was also a long-time member of AACA (Antique Auto Club of America) Riverbend Chapter. She loved to play cards, and cook for family and friends. Lorraine enjoyed spending time in Mesa, AZ during the winter months.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Mary) Campbell of St. Peter; grandsons, Jonathan (Susan) Campbell of Shakopee, and Aaron Campbell of St. Peter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James “Jake” in 2009; six sisters; one brother.
