Louise Runtzel, 94, Mankato, died Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Pathstone Living in Mankato. Private family services will be held at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Louise was born December 31, 1926 to Louis and Louise (Rudolph) Arnoldt in Janesville. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1944 and went on to graduate from Mankato Commercial College in 1945. Louise was united in marriage to Harry Runtzel in Janesville in 1950 and later divorced in 1978. She retired in 1994 after 22 years at a clerical position for School District 77. In her free time she was an avid reader and liked home décor. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by son, Scot Runtzel of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Cathy (Chuck) Goettlicher of North Mankato; grandchildren, Erin Goettlicher, Luke (Larysa) Goettlicher, Megan (Trent) Pool, Jacob (Cassandra) Goettlicher, Kira (John) Mizell, Anna Runtzel, and Holly Runtzel; great grandchildren, Ashton, Charlotte and Oliver Goettlicher, Annabelle, Eli, and Archer Pool, Elize and Miles Goettlicher and Jackson Hasling; two nieces; two nephews; and former daughter in-law, Bernadette DuBois.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband, one nephew and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
