Mary Anne Roloff, 89, Madison Lake, died Thursday May 14, 2026 at home. A Memorial Service will be held at 11am Monday June 1, at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with a lunch to follow. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mary Anne was born on September 29, 1936, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Swenn Aage and Mary Elizabeth (Herschleb) Johnsen. Mary Anne went to St. Olaf College for 2 years and South Dakota State for 2 years, graduating with a degree in English and a minor in Science. She later worked at Personal Decisions International. Mary Anne served as the Treasurer for the Madison Lake Historical Society. In her free time, she was an avid bird watcher and reader.
Mary Anne is survived by her partner of 47 years, Jerry Schaefer of Madison Lake; her son, Andrew (DeLynne) Roloff; her daughter, Amy Roloff; and grandchildren, Joseph, Joshua, and Lucas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Swenn Aage and Mary Elizabeth (Herschleb) Johnsen.
