Obituary
Melvin George Herme, age 90, of Mankato, MN died Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Pathstone Living in Mankato. A Celebration of Life will 1:00 pm. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home in Mankato.
Melvin was born December 2, 1932 in Walters, MN to James and Besse (Thorsheim) Herme. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. On June 9, 1957 he married Ellen Langford in Truman, MN. Melvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, games and softball. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Ellen of Mankato; sons, James (Donna) Herme of Oxnard, CA, Nathan (Christina) of Farmington, MN; daughter, Anne Saunders of Mankato; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Daonna Mae Eddie of Marshalltown, IA; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 grandchild and 9 siblings.
