Michele Susan Oslund

Michele Susan Oslund, age 78, of Mankato, MN died Monday, July 25, 2022, at Prairie Hill in St. Peter, MN. Private services will be held.

Michele was born May 30, 1944, in Paxton, IL to Herman and Helen (Johnson) Osterbur. She grew up in Mankato graduating from Mankato High School and also Mankato State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music. She taught music at Blooming Prairie and directed several choirs. Michele was very creative and enjoyed singing, sewing, photography, and writing. She was co-author of a wildflower field guide called “What’s Doin’ the Bloomin,” and also a guide to Hawaii called “Hawaiian Gardens are to Go to.” Michele loved time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.

Michele is survived by her children: Ellen (Vince Wagner) Sassenberg of Rochester, MN; Steven (Cassandra) Sassenberg of St. Peter, MN; Daniel Sassenberg of St. Paul, MN; and her grandchildren, Justin, Benjamin, Lucy, Madeleine, Devin, and Martin. She was preceded in death by her parents.
