Myron Storlien Obituary

Myron Storlien, 82, of Mankato died Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.  Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, November 21 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mankato with pastor Jay Dahlvang officiating.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20th at Woodland Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Military Honors provided by Mankato Area Veteran’s Memorial Squad.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Myron was born December 24, 1941 in Madison, MN to Charlie and Marie (Skogen) Storlien. He served in the US Army from 1959-1965.  He married Mary Kremer on September 14, 1979 at Sibley Park in Mankato. Myron worked for Local 512 as an Ironworker from October 1969 – November 1997.  After he retired he mowed parks for the city of Mankato. Myron was almost 100% Norwegian and was very proud of that fact. He was a member of the American Legion Post 11 and VFW Post 950.

Myron is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Michael (Amanda) Storlien of Lake Crystal, Matthew (Tatiana) Storlien of Houston, TX, Mitchell Storlien of Mankato, Mark Storlien of St. Peter; grandchildren: Marlo Storlien, Myra Storlien, Liam Storlien and Tristan Storlien; brother: Charles (Phyllis) Storlien of Madison, MN; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Irene Storlien of Madison, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie & Marie; brothers, Orville (Lucille) Storlien, Reuben (Evelyn) Storlien, Valgean (Doris) Storlien, Darrell Storlien, Roger (Beverly) Storlien, infant brother, Lyle Storlien; Sisters, Lorraine (Norvald) Skoien, Delores (Beaumont) Borass, Patricia Kashmark, infant sister, Irene Storlien; nephew, Terry Skoien; nieces Brenda Storlien and Darlene Boraas; mother and father-in-law, Donald and Helen Kremer; sisters-in-law, Dianne Boraas and Karen Briggs.
