Richard (Dick) Waldo Eckstein Jr, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at Birchwood Cottages Assisted Living in North Mankato. Dick was born April 25, 1939 to Richard and Helen Eckstein. Dick graduated from Orange High School in Ohio. Went on to receive a degree in agricultural/engineering from Ohio State University.
Dick was united in marriage to Lynn Easton, December 23, 1960. They met in high school sitting be each other because of alphabetical seating. They came to live at Lake Washington in the mid 70’s. Dick worked for National Crane for many years. Dick loved to garden and woodworking. Built many pieces for family and friends. Dick also enjoyed mowing and plowing for his neighbors with his John Deere tractors.
Dick is survived by sons Rick and Gary(Kari). Grandchildren Sara(John), Nikki(Craig) and Joshua(Sara). Great grandchildren Adalyn, Taylor, Peyton, Brienna, William and Logan. His brother Bob(Barbara), his sister Mary Helen(John) and many nieces and nephews.
Dick was proceeded in death by his wife Lynn Eckstein, his parents and daughter-in-law Melody Eckstein.
Final interment Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato.
Private family service to be held.
