Roger Cornie Block

St. Peter resident, Roger C. Block, age 81, died Saturday, December 24, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family.  Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 427 W Mulberry St., St. Peter, MN 56802.  Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.  There will be cake and coffee following the service. 

Roger was born October 27, 1941 in Champagne, IL to Cornelius and Lillian (Patient) Block. On November 10, 1990 he married Cindy Lou Kranz in St. Peter.  He owned and operated a County Kitchen restaurant in St. Peter and LeSueur. After retiring from that, he sold insurance.

Roger liked to raise and ride horses, watch basketball and football, but especially loved watching his grandkids in all their sporting events.  He never would miss a game.  He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Church where he served on the church council for many years.

Roger is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Greg (Sue) Block of Gilbert, AZ, Tim (Denise) Block of Pheonix, AZ, Tony (Debbie) Block of Bailey, CO, Steve (Jenni) Block of Belle Plaine, MN, Heather Schulz of Glencoe; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Pat Block of California.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
