Ronald Jordan Obituary

Ron Jordan lost his battle to COPD on Thursday, March 13, 2025.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:30pm Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Woodland Hills Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will be held from 12:30 until the time of the services at Woodland Hills.  Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. 

Ronald William Jordan was born to Edward & Marilyn (Kueny) Jordan on February 29, 1952, in Sioux City, IA. The family moved to Mankato, MN in the mid 1950’s. He attended St. Joseph The Worker Elementary School and Loyola High School. He received his GED through Mankato High School.

Ron married Sandra Karels in 1970, and they had three children Nicole, Jeremy, and Ryan. They divorced in 1996.

Ron did construction work and at one point owned his own business, Jordan Excavating. In 1984 he became the Operator of The Rapidan Dam Hydro-Electric Power Plant until 1990. He then spent 1 1⁄2 years managing The Pines Lodge in Buffalo, WY. He returned to the Rapidan Dam position from 1992- 1997. Ron then went on the open road and became an Over-The-Road Truck Driver for Western Specialized. He was an owner-operator for the last 5 years of his driving career.

Ron married Susan (Ireland) Caven in 2001. Together they traveled the U.S., sometimes even in Ron’s Semi!

Ron enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren and his horse Dusty.

He had a deep Faith in Jesus Christ and was extremely patriotic loving his country!

Ron is survived by his wife Sue, Children Nicole (Jason) Sowers, Jeremy (April) Jordan and Ryan (Crystal) Jordan, Step-Children Ryan (Anita) Ireland and Rachel (Danny) McCargar, 9 Grandchildren, 4 Step-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild on the way, 1 brother John (Jan) Jordan, 3 sisters Carol (Clem) Gilbertson, Judy (Jim) Harris and Patty (Joe) McDonnell, Sister-In-Laws Kathy (Joe) Kauffmann, Elizabeth (Rod) Hedberg, Brother-in Laws John (Kristi) Ireland and Paul (Beth) Ireland.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sisters Shari Steinbach, Donna Becker, Brother-In-Law Jim Becker and nephew Ricky Vosburgh, In-Laws Lawrence and Patricia Ireland
