Ronald LeRoy Tostenson

Ronald LeRoy Tostenson was born on April 27, 1944, in Albert Lea, Minnesota to LeRoy Tostenson and Audrey Andersen.  He passed away on November 15 in Rochester, Minnesota surrounded by family. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 21, 2025 at Woodland Hills Funeral Home, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Interment with Military Honors will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.

Ron attended schools in Albert Lea and graduated in 1962. Afterwards he attended and graduated from Austin Junior College. Later he moved and attended Mankato State College (now University). Ron was drafted into the army in October 1966. After basic training in El Paso, Texas he was stationed in Tolchester, Maryland as a Nike Hercules panel operator. He was discharged in October 1968.

While there Ron met and married Geraldine Scarborough on December 28, 1968 in Darby, Pennsylvania. They moved to Mankato, MN and Ron worked at Mahowald’s Hardware and Sporting Store. Later he was an owner along with others. After the store closed he became an independent insurance agent for various companies.

Ron and Gerry have two children, Phillip Ronald and Jeanne Katherine (Scarpello). Ron and Gerry enjoyed traveling to Mexico and many National parks.

Ron was an avid baseball and softball fan. He was also a lover of country music.

Ron is survived by his wife, Gerry; his son, Phil and wife Sara along with grandchildren, Jacob, Anna, Camden, Katelyn and Brady. his daughter, Jeanne and her husband Tom Scarpello and grandson, Dominic; brother, Dennis and his wife, Beth; and brother, Reed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and many lifetime friends.
