Rosie was born October 6, 1930, in Belgrade Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota, to Martin F. and Florence M. (Kawell) Dallmann, and was raised primarily in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1948. She married John Banks on December 27, 1954, in Mankato, and they adopted a son in 1967.

Rosie worked at Automatic Electric Company, Kato Engineering and Standard Oil. John and Rosie bought an independent insurance agency in Kasson, Minnesota, in 1974. After their retirement in 1995, they led an active life volunteering. Rosie’s activities included the Chamber of Commerce, Meals on Wheels and Dollars for Scholars, among others. Her hobbies included bridge and golf.

Rosie was a person of deep Christian faith and helped to begin two missions for the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, in Prior Lake, Minnesota, and in Kasson. She was social person and found her greatest earthly happiness caring for others. In her work and in her home, she was impeccably ordered, precise and complete. This combination of qualities she brought to every task.

In 2011, Rosie and John returned to Mankato, where they remained until 2021, when they moved to the Twin Cities area to be closer to their son.

Rosie is survived by her son, David, of Minneapolis, and by many dear nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by John in 2022, and by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Elfern and Jerome Haefner; her brother and sister-in-law, Arvid and Darlene Dallmann, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and Steve Huss; her brother-in-law, Bill Banks, and John’s parents, Mark and Kathleen Banks.
